Christine Ybarra, a native of South Texas, embarked on her musical journey at an early age. Recognizing her passion for music, her parents, who are of Indian descent, enrolled her in piano lessons at the age of six, followed by admission to an extracurricular music school at eight. Around the same time, Christine began participating in the adult traditional choir and the newly formed contemporary worship band at her church.
Entering her college years with aspirations of becoming a physician, Christine found herself increasingly drawn to a deeper spiritual connection with God. Seeking clarity on her life's direction, she had a spiritual encounter one Sunday morning while visiting another local church, which altered the trajectory of her life. Realizing there was a depth to her relationship with God that she had yet to explore, she decided to follow the path she felt God was leading her toward.
Christine continued her collegiate studies and graduated with a doctorate degree in pharmacy in 2011. During her pharmacy school years, she commuted back home every weekend to remain involved in her local church. Despite her dedication to education, she always prioritized her ministry. Attending a bilingual church, she began learning Spanish by listening to sermons and comparing songs she knew in English to their Spanish translations, opening up a new avenue of music and ministry. A few years later, Christine experienced a challenging period in her life as a single mother. During this time, she focused on her relationship with the Lord, allowing Him to rebuild her life. This season of hardship became a time of spiritual refinement, resulting in a deepened anointing and conviction in her ministry.
Currently, Christine serves as a worship leader in her church alongside her husband, who is the music director. She and her husband are frequently called upon to unite different churches for revivals, concerts, training workshops, and worship nights. She continues to develop herself by committing to seasons of vocal training with mentors such as Alett Frias and Rudy Villarreal. Christine has collaborated on music projects with individuals such as Alett Frias, Aaron Barbosa, and Adrian Jonathan Music. In 2020, she released her first cover of “Lugar Secreto” produced by Daniel Garcia, and more recently, she has released projects titled “Firm Foundation” and “Celebrate Jesus” with Adrian Jonathan Music.
Christine is thrilled to collaborate with Echo Music Group as one of their artists. She appreciates their heart, mission, and drive to encourage individuals to authentically express themselves and deliver the message God has given them. Her message is simple: Jesus is the focal point.
